May 2024: Pot experiments with ash (UJEP)

In accordance with the working plan, the experiment on testing ash as it influences the Miscanthus growth process was established by UJEP team with the assistance of the Crop Research Institute in Chomutov. The contaminated ash was delivered from the Olsztyn power station being produced from the wood waste (special thanks to prof. Zolnowski, WMU, Poland). The ash experiment is a part of the WP1 activities. It has the following goals: to assess the influence of ash and different doses on the agrochemical profile of soil; to evaluate the morpho-physiological parameters of Miscanthus × giganteus and to assess the influence of plants on soil agrochemical and biological parameters during cultivation in the ash-amended soil. PhD students: Abdulmannan Rouhani and Robert Ato Newton, Young Researcher Karim Al-Souki, Prof. Valentina Pidlisnyuk, NDP (all – UJEP) along with Vojtech Vana (CRI) have been involved in the experiment’s establishment and are going to maintain it during the vegetation season, 2024.
