May 2024: Ash vegetative experiment (TVHNPU)

As part of working package 1 of the project, the team at TVHNPU, Ukraine established a vegetative experiment to study the impact of ash as a soil amendment to Miscanthus development. Ash for the experiment was received from the power station in which Miscanthus biomass produced at the TEs contaminated soil was under the physical-chemical treatment. The vegetative experiment consists of several stages, starting from soil preparation, incorporation of ash, and planting of M×g rhizomes to be followed by regular monitoring of bioparameters, and related soil and biomass analysis. Besides the team of the project consisted of PPD Dr. Andryi Hertz and young researchers Dr. Oksana Horyn and Viktor Markiv faculty members and graduated students who voluntarily participated in the experiment.
