Enhanced Erasmus course at UJEP

One of the educational goals of the project is focused on enhancing the existed at the universities Master and Bachelor degree courses with elements of the Advanced Technology with Miscanthus × giganteus. In the educational year 2023/2024 the existed Erasmus course in Sustainable Management of Contaminated Sites (UJEP) was updated with the elements of Phytotechnology, specifically with importance of biochar in phytotechnology while applied at the field scale. Students participated in the research provided at the Miscanthus plantation in Chomutov, the Czech Republic. They studied the technique for soil sample collection and evaluation of samples being visited M×g plantation three times per semester. They evaluated the influence of different doses of biochar on Miscanthus productivity and carbon soil content.  At the end of the course students created presentations on Sustainable Management of the Contaminated Sites.  In the evaluation after the course students stressed the importance of the field work for their future professional career.
