April 23-23, 2024: Participation in the International Scientific Symposium “The Role of Universities and Science in Sustainable Regional Development”, Poland
On April 21–23, 2024, the Baltic University Program (BUP) International Scientific Symposium “The Role of Universities and Science in Sustainable Regional Development” was held at the Bialystok University of Technology, Poland. The symposium had a goal to share the best practices regarding the challenges in sustainable development and universities’ activities focused on the protection of the Environment and adaptation to Climate Change. The event was attended by participants from six European countries representing fourteen universities that formed the BUP network.
While at the symposium Dr. Oksana Horyn, Assoc. professor, a young researcher from the Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University (TVHNPU), Ukraine delivered a report “The Role of Universities in Implementing Advanced Phytotechnology to Mitigate Climate Change within the Framework of NATO Project G6094″, which reflected achievements of the project’s team in mitigation the climate change by Miscanthus phytotechnology and revitalization of the military-contaminated soils in Ukraine.
